Beware!!! Marketers are going to take advantage of you.

That time of year is upon us again. When the holiday season rolls around you can usually count on 4 things:

1. Seeing relatives that you won't talk to for the next 10 months.

2. Charging as much on your credit cards in two months as you do for the entire rest of the year.

3. Packing on 7-12 lbs. of unwanted fat. (Yep, that's the national average.)

4. Marketers of fitness and weight loss products brainwashing you into buying their products. Now the first two there is not much I can do about, but lets see if I can help with the last two.

Do not give in to clever marketing.

Every year there is the same pattern formed by marketers of fitness and weight loss products. There campaign usually begins about 6 weeks before New Years with teasers about there products and what is to come. They do this continually up to New Years and then begin marketing there products even more aggressively once the New Year hits. Why do they do this? Well, they do this for a couple of reasons. 1. They know that most people have just recently put on some weight during the holidays. 2. They know that it is easy to hit peoples emotional triggers due to there recent weight gain. 3. They know most people are in search of a quick and easy solution to there weight loss desires. But I have a question!

How come if there product is so good and effective will it not be on the shelves come this time next year?

That answer is simple, the products are ineffective and do not stand the test of time. The funny part is that the manufacturers already know that, but are so confident that there sales over the next three months will be so good it will warrant the production of the product. So why would they produce a product for you the consumer to take if it does not actually deliver the results it promises. Plain and simple, It makes them rich. Due to clever marketing, misinformation, and hitting consumers emotional triggers at the right time of year these companies will have success while leaving the consumer empty handed and filled with false beliefs. Not to mention they simple do not have your best interests in mind.

So what am I telling you? I am telling you to stand strong and not waste your money on such products. Know that there is no magic pill that can make you lose weight. Accept the fact that you have to make long term adjustments with your eating and exercise plans. Nothing to major; sometime small adjustments can make a BIG difference. Most importantly get educated on how the human body works. Then and only then will you achieve your goals. Knowledge is power. if you are going to invest your money on anything in the fitness and weight loss industry spend it on something that will give you the education and knowledge to help you make the proper decisions to live a healthy life. Do not be the next person to buy the latest fitness gadget or weight loss pill that will do nothing but drain your bank account and waste your time.
